Integrated Major
About the Integrated Major Program
- An Integrated Major refers to a graduate program jointly established by two or more departments (or interdisciplinary programs), designed to provide convergent education.
- When a student completes an Integrated Major, this fact is recorded on the diploma and in the academic transcript. However, a separate diploma is not issued for each major completed.
Requirements for Completion
To complete an Integrated Major, students must meet the following criteria:
- They must earn at least one-fourth of the total credits required for graduation from courses offered by the Integrated Major.
※ For students enrolled in an Integrated Major: up to 12 credits in the master’s program, 18 credits in the doctoral program, and 42 credits in the combined master’s and doctoral program may be double-counted toward the student’s home department major requirements if the courses are common courses offered in the Integrated Major curriculum. - There is no separate qualifying examination or thesis requirement specifically for the completion of an Integrated Major.
